Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the Media Channels and Platforms course blog!

This first week we are merely taking stock, getting to know the course, getting to know each other and starting to engage with the subject. Next time we will be dipping our toes into the thrashing waters of semiotics, but between now and then, there are some tasks to complete.

- Create your own blog for your own work during this course (recommend Blogger, but whatever fits you is fine, as long as it's easy to interact with and others can post on it)
- Email me the blog link, so I can add it to this blog [BEFORE TUESDAY THE 11TH OF SEPTEMBER]
- Produce and post on your blog an introduction of yourself. It can be in the form of a video (no longer than 1 minute) or an illustration or a short animation. Tell about your educational background, professional interests and aspirations
- Write a media observation* post on your blog. You can begin by examining your own media consumption habits and your thoughts on that
- Give feedback on at least one of your group member posts
- Check the course blog for any pre-tasks for next week

* Media diary - Keep an account of contemporary media issues, events, stories, post links and videos, document your media habits and whatever thoughts you may have about media. Source things as much as possible.
